The operation of welding modes is:
2-step mode:
the welding process starts when
pressing the torch pushbutton, and stops when
releasing it after the descent ramp has been executed
and the post-gas time is finished.
Note: on the
‘advanced user’
level, you can set the starting current
time and the end current time, thus obtaining a 3-level
mode.
4-step mode:
by pressing the torch pushbutton, the
welding process starts with a manual pre-gas; when
releasing it, actual welding will start. Upon the next
pressure of the torch pushbutton, the welding current
makes, if set, the descent ramp and then it will stop,
while the gas continues flowing; upon releasing it, the
gas flow will stop too.
2-level:
when the torch trigger is pressed welding
begins at the current value set with the ‘
Start current
’
parameter. When the trigger is released the current
goes to the value set with ‘
Current
’.
By pressing the torch trigger briefly you go to the
welding current set with the ‘
Current 2
’ parameter.
Another pulse takes the current back to the value set
with ‘
Current
’ and so on cyclically. To finish the process
you have to press the torch trigger: the current goes to
the value set with the ‘
Final current
’ parameter and
when the trigger is released the process stops.
Note: on
the ‘
advanced user
’ level, you can set the starting
current time and the end current time.
By selecting the SETTINGS
icon on the screen, the
set-up screen for the TIG welding parameters is
accessed. These parameters are available regardless
of the user level set. This allows, for example, the use of
one or more advanced parameters even on the ‘basic’
or ‘middle’ user level.
To modify these parameters:
•
Turn ‘E1’ to select the parameter (to the right for the
value of the parameter, to the left for its identification
code)
•
Turn ‘E2’ to set the value
•
The settings are confirmed by tapping HOME
;
following confirmation the main screen reappears.
Note: the absolute value or the percentage relative to
the value of the base parameter can be set for certain
values (select the orange icon above the parameter for
this option).
For example: the initial current can have an
absolute value or a set percentage of the value of the
welding current.
Most of these parameters can also be modified directly
on the main screen by selecting them on the welding
diagram.
The parameters that can be set are:
•
Pregas:
pre-gas timing (seconds).
•
Postgas:
post-gas timing (seconds).
•
Up slope:
current slope-up timing (seconds).
•
Down Slope:
current slope-down timing (seconds).
•
Base current:
pulsed base current (Amps).
•
Frequency:
pulse frequency (Hz).
