Encoder
Navigate the IJ4000 to the status screen. If the line speed displays a value comparable to the known line speed, then the encoder is functioning
correctly. If the line speed displays "0", then check electrical connections to the encoder and IJ4000 PCB. Refer to “Encoder” on page 56 for addi-
tional information.
Detailed Guide to Determine Proper Ink Flow Issue Resolution
Introduction and Ink Flow
Proper ink flow through the Impulse Jet ink circuit is critical, not only to being able to print, but also to maintain the IJ Print Heads in proper con-
dition without introducing air into the print engine.
Most often, issues with ink flow through the Impulse Jet System will be indicated by the following error message. The following procedure should
be used to identify the proper issue and resolution.
Good Ink Flow can be subjective; following are guidelines for determining that flow:
•
While pump is on and there are no ink supply tubing obstructions or damage, there will initially be 20-25 psi at the exit.
•
Depressing the male QD will flow fast (5-10 mL/sec), not drip, drip.
