FACTORY CONFIGURATION
When shipped, the units are set to the configurations listed in Tables 1-2 and
1-3. The configurable parameters are stored in Flash memory and can be
queried and changed by the user.

CONFIGURATION DIRECTIONS
Configuring a unit is a three step process. First design the analog and digital
connections between the unit and the host device as directed in Sections
2.10 and 2.11. This will provide you with the signal pin assignments and
some of the configuration values. Secondly, review the SCPI commands
and programming guide in Section 3 to select the configuration settings.
Then follow the instructions in 2.6, 2.7 or 2.8 to configure the unit.
If you are using a PC as a bus controller with an ICS Electronics,
Measurement Computing or National Instruments GPIB Controller, the
easiest way to configure a unit with a GPIB interface is to use ICS's
GPIBkybd Program and enter the SCPI commands in the Device Command
Window. If you have a different GPIB Controller that is not compatible
with National Instrument style commands then you have to use the utility
the Controller manufacturer supplied to send the SCPI configuration
commands to the 4807/4867.
If you have an HP 9000 series computer or a PC that runs Rocky Mountain
Basic and has a HP-IB interface, you can adapt the programs shown in
Figures 2-4 and 2-5 to configure the 4807 or use HP's live keyboard function
to output SCPI commands and query the unit. For other computers, the
SCPI configuration commands can be put in a program or entered from the
computer's keyboard. Section 2.8 provides general instructions on writing
your own configuration program and provides program examples in HP
BASIC that can be easily adapted to your favorite programming language
with GPIB commands.
If you have a 2307 or 2367 with a serial interface, you can use a terminal
emulation program or ICS's SERkybd program to send the SCPI configuration
commands to the unit. ICS's SERkybd program can communicate with the
unit in basic serial, Network Addressed and Packet Protocol modes.
