Attention:

microprocessor

tray

heavy.

Pull

the

tray

partially

out

the

server,

and

then

reposition

your

hands

grasp

the

body

the

tray,

before

pulling

out

the

tray

the

rest

the

way.

Remove

the

microprocessor

tray.

Press

the

release

latches

each

side

the

tray;

then,

pull

the

tray

out

the

rest

the

way.

Lift

the

air

baffle

out

the

microprocessor

tray.

11.

Open

the

heat

sink-release

lever

and

remove

the

heat

sink.

Note:

The

thermal

adhesive

material

that

secures

the

heat

sink

the

microprocessor

might

have

formed

strong

bond.

Gently

rotate

the

heat

sink

back

and

forth

help

break

this

bond.

When

the

heat

sink

moves

back

and

forth

easily,

the

bond

broken.

Open

the

microprocessor-release

lever

and

remove

the

microprocessor

from

the

microprocessor

socket.

13.

you

are

instructed

return

the

microprocessor

tray

and

microprocessor,

all

packaging

instructions,

and

use

any

packaging

materials

for

shipping

that

are

supplied

you.

install

the

replacement

microprocessor

tray

and

microprocessor,

complete

the

following

steps:

Lift

the

microprocessor-release

lever

the

fully

open

position

(approximately

135°

angle).

Lever closed

Lever fully
open

Attention:

avoid

bending

the

pins

the

microprocessor,

not

use

excessive

force

when

pressing

into

the

socket.

Position

the

microprocessor

over

the

microprocessor

socket

shown

the

following

illustration.

Carefully

press

the

microprocessor

into

the

socket.
