Replacement
of
Tier
1
CRUs
is
your
responsibility.
If
IBM
installs
a
Tier
1
CRU
at
your
request,
you
will
be
charged
for
the
installation.
The
illustrations
in
this
document
might
differ
slightly
from
your
hardware.
Removing
the
top
cover,
bezel,
and
front
cover
Attention:
For
proper
cooling
and
airflow,
replace
the
top
cover
before
turning
on
the
server.
Operating
the
server
for
more
than
2
minutes
with
the
top
cover
removed
might
damage
server
components.
To
remove
the
top
cover,
bezel,
and
front
cover,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Read
the
safety
information
that
begins
on
page
vii
and
2.
If
you
are
installing
or
replacing
a
non-hot-swap
component,
turn
off
the
server
and
all
peripheral
devices.
Disconnect
the
power
cords;
then,
disconnect
all
external
cables
from
the
server.
Unlock
Lock
3.
(Tower
model
only)
Unlock
the
front
cover
and
grasp
the
top
corners
of
the
front
cover
and
pull
it
away
from
the
server.
4.
(Tower
model
only)
Lift
the
front
cover
to
release
the
two
tabs
at
the
bottom
edge
of
the
cover.
