A mechanical event has occurred. Remove the magazines and check for an
obstruction. See “Release magazines” on
page 19 for more information. If there is no
obstruction, replace the library chassis. See
“Removing the library chassis” on page 43

60 A tape drive error has occurred. Complete the following steps:
1. Check the log for errors. See “Event
logs” on page 18 for more information.
Replace the failing tape drive. See
“Removing a tape drive” on page 47 for
more information.
2. If tape drive read errors or write errors
are written in the log, run the tape drive
test. If the tape drive fails the test, retry
the test with a different tape cartridge. If
the test fails, replace the tape drive. See
“Removing a tape drive” on page 47 for
more information.
3. Clean the tape drive.
61 A tape cartridge did not load into the
tape drive correctly.
Try to load a different tape cartridge. If the
problem recurs, replace the tape drive. See
“Removing a tape drive” on page 47 for more
information.
62 A tape cartridge did not unload from
the tape drive correctly.
Remove the magazines and determine
whether the tape cartridge has been ejected.
If the tape cartridge has not been ejected,
replace the tape drive. See “Removing a
tape drive” on page 47 for more information.
63 A tape drive communication error
has occurred.
Retry the operation. If the problem recurs,
replace the tape drive. See “Removing a
tape drive” on page 47 for more information.
64 The tape drive has a tape cartridge
installed.
Unload the cartridge. See “Move tape” on
page 20 for more information.
65 The library has been reset. No action is required.
66 A command failed. Power cycle the library; then, retry the
request. If the problem recurs, replace the
library controller. See “Removing the library
controller” on page 44 for more information.
67 A command aborted. Power cycle the library; then, retry the
request. If the problem recurs, replace the
library controller. See “Removing the library
controller” on page 44 for more information.
68 A command was rejected. Power cycle the library; then, retry the
request. If the problem recurs, replace the
library controller. See “Removing the library
controller” on page 44 for more information.
69 A command timed out. Retry the operation. If the problem recurs,
check the error log for more information.
6A A login error occurred while the tape
drive firmware was being updated.
Wait for the firmware update to be
completed.
