FRU information (service only)
The field replaceable unit (FRU) procedures are intended for trained servicers who
are familiar with IBM products.
IntelliStation Z Pro Type 6221
The following section contains information about removing components of the
IntelliStation Z Pro Type 6221.
Front adapter-retention bracket assembly
Note: Read “Installation guidelines” on page 35 and the safety notices at “Safety
information” on page 117.
Complete the following steps to remove the front adapter-retention bracket
assembly:
1. Turn off the computer and attached devices; then, disconnect all power cords
and external cables.
2. Remove the cover and support bracket (see“Removing the side cover” on page
39 and “Removing and installing the support bracket” on page 42).
Note: It may be easier to complete this procedure if the computer is laying on
its side.
3. Pivot the card guide to the raised position; then, remove all adapters (see
“Installing an adapter” on page 45).
Note: In the following illustration, the drive cage is not shown.

4. Slide the bar out of the circular slots and pull the card guide out of the chassis.
