Inside the minitower system
In the minitower system, the system board is positioned
up against the right wall. The riser card is attached to the
system board, parallel and very close to the system
board.
After you remove the system unit cover, the system unit

Similarities between the
systems
Except for the different positions of the hardware
components in the desktop and minitower systems, the
procedures for adding and replacing adapter cards,
drives, and system board components are similar for
both system units. Whether you have a desktop system
or a minitower system, the system board looks like this:
Adapter cards and drives are positioned differently in
the two system units, but cable connections, any
necessary online configuration, and adapter card
operation remain the same.
