Diskette drive access
This option lets you enable or disable access to the
diskette drive(s).
Operate without keyboard
This option lets you avoid a POST error when the
keyboard is disconnected.
If you enable this option, you must disable the power-on
password.
Operate without diskette drive(s)
This option lets you avoid a POST error when the
diskette drive is disconnected.
Cache options
The Cache Options menu shows how much cache
memory is installed on your computer and lets you
enable or disable it.
Cache size
This option identifies how much cache memory is
installed on your computer. You can install a maximum
of 512KB cache memory.
Cache memory is special buffer storage that holds
frequently used instructions and data, and works faster
than main storage.
Cache state
This option lets you specify whether your computer
uses its cache memory. With cache memory enabled,
your programs run faster. If you run programs that
require slower speeds, you can disable cache memory
to slow down your computer.
Enable this option to change the following option:

Cache system BIOS
If the Cache State option is enabled, you can use the
Cache System BIOS option to specify whether your
computer runs the system BIOS region in cache
memory. With this option enabled, your computer’s
performance improves.
You might need to disable this option when you are
using a program that attempts to write to the BIOS.
Virus checking programs may attempt to write to the
BIOS.
ROM shadowing
The ROM Shadowing menu shows which system
devices are using read-only memory (ROM) shadowing.
With ROM shadowing, your computer stores data from
the specified device in random access memory (RAM).
Since your computer can access data in RAM faster than
it can access data from ROM, programs run faster when
ROM shadowing is enabled.
