The phone rings and the computer turns on, but
a fax isn’t received. The fax software must be open and set to receive faxes. See the
documentation that came with your fax software to make sure it is set up to
answer the phone.
Standby Snapshot is enabled (turned on), but
the computer does not Rapid Resume after a
power failure. In order for Standby Snapshot to work properly after a power failure, make
sure that:
1. Rapid Resume is enabled.
2. Standby is enabled.
3. Your computer is in Standby when the power failure occurs.
A POST error code appears after you turn on
your computer using Rapid Resume. 1. Turn off the system unit.
2. If you:
• Have not installed or removed hardware, find the error code in
“Responding to error codes” on page 141 and take the action listed.
• Have installed or removed hardware, return the computer to its previous
configuration. Then wait 10 seconds and turn on the system unit. If the
error does not reoccur after turning off the power with the on/off button,
save any work that you want to keep and reinstall your hardware. For
instructions on installing hardware in your desktop system unit, see
“Working with the hardware in the desktop system unit” on page 78. For
instructions on installing hardware in your minitower system unit, see
“Working with the hardware in the minitower system unit” on page 100.
