BMC error messages
The following table lists BMC error messages and suggested actions to correct the
detected problems.
v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action
column until the problem is solved.

See Chapter 3, “Parts listing, Types 1885 and 8853,” on page 15 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
v
If an action step is preceded by “(Trained service technician only),” that step must
be performed only by a trained service technician.
Error message Action
I/O board fault
1. Reseat the I/O-expansion card.
2. Replace the following components one at
a time, in the order shown, restarting the
blade server each time:
a. I/O-expansion card
b. (Trained service technician only)
system board assembly
cKVM card fault
1. Reseat the Concurrent KVM feature card.
2. Replace the Concurrent KVM feature
card.
BEM 1 fault
1. Reseat the following components one at
a time, in the order shown, restarting the
blade server each time:
a. ServeRAID SAS controller
b. RAID battery
c. Expansion unit
2. Replace the expansion unit.
BEM 2 fault
1. Reseat the expansion unit.
2. Replace the expansion unit.
High speed expansion card fault
1. Reseat the high-speed expansion card.
2. Replace the high-speed expansion card.
Front panel cable is not connected to system
board
1. Reseat the control panel cable.
2. Replace the following components one at
a time, in the order shown, restarting the
blade server each time:
a. Bezel assembly
b. (Trained service technician only)
System board assembly
BSE RAID battery failure
1. Reseat the SAS controller battery
connector in the BladeCenter Storage
Expansion Unit 3.
2. Replace the SAS controller battery in the
BladeCenter Storage Expansion Unit 3.
