Removing
the
battery
To
remove
the
battery,
complete
the
following
steps.

Read
the

2.
If
the
blade
server
is
installed
in
a
BladeCenter
unit,
remove
it
(see
“Removing
the
blade
server
from
a
BladeCenter
unit”
on
page

for
instructions).
3.
Remove
the
blade
server
cover
(see
“Removing
the
blade
server
cover”
on
page
24
for
instructions).
4.
If
a
Memory
and
I/O
Expansion
Blade
is
installed,
remove
it
(see
“Removing
an
expansion
unit”
on
page
26).
5.
Locate
the
battery
on
the
system
board.

6.
Use
one
finger
to
press
the
top
of
the
battery
horizontally
away
from
the
socket,
toward
the
interior
of
the
blade
server.
7.
Lift
and
remove
the
battery
from
the
socket.
8.
Dispose
of
the
battery
as
required
by
local
ordinances
or
regulations.
