Memory

Expansion
Blade
is
installed
and
you
are
removing
DIMMs
from
the
system
board,
remove
the
Memory
and
I/O
Expansion
Blade
(see
“Removing
an
expansion
unit”
on
page
26).
5.
If
the
blade
server
is
equipped
with
a
DIMM
air
baffle,
lift
it
off
of
the
system
board
and
store
it
in
a
safe
place.
6.
Locate
the
DIMM
connectors.
Determine
which
DIMM
you
want
to
remove
from
the
blade
server.
Attention:
To
avoid
breaking
the
retaining
clips
or
damaging
the
DIMM
connectors,
handle
the
clips
gently.
7.
Move
the
DIMM
retaining
clips
on
the
side
of
the
DIMM
socket
to
the
open
position
by
pressing
the
retaining
clips
away
from
the
center
of
the
DIMM
socket.
8.
Using
your
fingers,
pull
the
DIMM
out
of
the
DIMM
socket.
9.
If
you
are
instructed
to
return
the
DIMM,
follow
all
packaging
instructions,
and
use
any
packaging
materials
for
shipping
that
are
supplied
to
you.
Installing
a
memory
module
For
blade
servers
with
no
Memory
and
I/O
Expansion
Blade,
when
you
install
memory,
you
must
install
a
pair
of
matched
DIMMs.
Install
the
DIMMs
in
the
following
order:
