Probe cleaning
If contamination cannot be removed by the automatic probe cleaning, it will be necessary to clean the
metal surface of the electrodes regularly.
A standard cleaning agent is recommended, and must be flushed off carefully with water after cleaning.
The setting of the correct measuring value can take some time after cleaning.
3. Operation
➢
Drinking water is in the circuit inside the chlorine dioxide system during operation.
➢
The existing chemical in the tank is read and controlled by the measuring probe then sent to the
control unit.
➢
The value of Chlorine Dioxide is shown on the display of the control unit.
➢
The volume of chlorine dioxide solution that must be added to the drinking water in order
to achieve an optimum disinfection is calculated by the control unit.
The maximum admissible chlorine dioxide concentration in the drinking water of 0.5 mg/l (in the UK).
The control unit ensures this value is not exceeded.
4. Calibration
It is necessary to calibrate the chlorine dioxide measuring in regular intervals by comparative
measuring.
The proceeding is as follows:

Removal of water sample during operation from discharge ball cock
(Prior to take the sample, the first few samples should be rejected to avoid and remove
stagnation water!).
➢
The actual value must be determined by comparative measuring.
➢
The measured value must be set at the control unit (see chapter
VII
).
➢
The displayed gradient must be controlled.
