Step 1
Establish the physical connection as shown in
Figure 2-7
.
Step 2
Configure the AUX port to support the Modem dialup.

Configure Modem parameters.
# Run the PC emulation terminal, refer to
Establishing the Configuration Environment by the
Console Port
.
Press
Enter
on the PC emulation terminal/ terminal until a command line prompt of the
Modem such as
>
appears.
Configure the Modem to meet the requirements of AUX communication.
For details, refer to Modem descriptions.
Step 4
Log in to the router.
Enter the user name and password in the remote terminal emulation program.
After authentication, a command line prompt such as
Quidway
appears.
Enter the command to check the running status of the router or configure the router.
Enter
"?" for help.
