8.8.5 Example for Configuring XModem
Networking Requirements
The router is connected with PC through the AUX port. Log in to the router through the AUX
port, to receive files from the AUX port and save the received packets to the Flash Memory.
Configuration Roadmap
1.
Run the HyperTerminal on the PC and log in to the router.
2.
Use the
xmodem
command to download the files on the router.
3.
Specify the file path on the HyperTerminal.
Data Preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
z
files copied to the PC
z
path of the file on the PC
Configuration Procedure
Step 1
Log in to the router through the AUX port.
Refer to the chapter on "Establishing Configuration Environments."
Step 2
Specify the file to be sent on the HyperTerminal.

After configuration, click
Send
to send the file.
Step 3
Use the XModem protocol to receive the file form the AUX port.
The received file is saved on theFlash memory of the router and the file name is
test.txt
.
