Applicable Environment
The following operations are common in the daily maintenance of a router:
1.
Specifying the slave RPU
NE20 contains only one RPU, so NE20 does not support this function.
When the NE20E restarts, the master and the slave RPUs are not fixed. The two RPUs
compete for the status of the master RPU. When the master and slave RPUs work
normally, you need to run a command to specify the slot number of the slave RPU, if you
want the slot number of the master RPU of the NE40E to be fixed.
2.
Restarting the router
After the upgrading, the router may need to be restarted. Restarting the router can be
classified as the following three situations:
−
Restarting the specified board
−
This operation only breaks off the services on the specified board and has no effect on
other boards.
−
Restarting the router immediately
−
After this operation is carried out, the router restarts immediately and breaks off
services of the whole router.
−
Restarting the router at a specified time
−
If the router is restarted at a busy time, the services are greatly affected. Through this
operation, you can specify the router to be restarted at time with few services. This is
to reduce the impact on the services.
3.
Performing master/slave switchover
NE20 contains only one RPU, so NE20 does not support this function.
The master/slave switchover of the router can be classified as the following two
situations:
−
The master RPU fails and the system automatically perform the master/slave
switchover.
−
The master/slave switchover is performed forcibly through CLI.
