11.4 Why can't I use mobile data services when roaming?
1. Go to Settings > Mobile Networks > Data Roaming and check whether data roaming is
enabled.
2. Contact your carrier's customer service hotline and ask if there are any preconditions that
must be met in order to use data services when roaming.
11.5 Why is the Internet connection slow?
In theory, 4G provides the fastest connection speeds, followed by 3G and 2G. Check what
type of network your phone is connected to. Network speeds may vary depending on the
carrier. In addition, connection speeds can also vary depending on the user's surroundings,
therefore carry out comparisons only when in the same location and connected to the same
network type.
Reasons for slow connection speed:
1. The web page is very large and therefore takes a while to load.
2. Surroundings: e.g. you are in an enclosed environment or on a train.
3. Problem with the web page's server.
You may notice a slower connection speed when in power saving mode. You can change the
settings in
Settings > Power Saving .
You can use speed test software to test your bandwidth, but you must be sure to select the
same server. Selecting a different server will result in significant differences in the test results.
Try following the steps below:
1. Check whether background apps are using the Internet connection.
2. Carry out a comparison test on another phone: insert your SIM card into another phone or
insert another SIM card connected to the same network into your phone. If the connection
speed is still slow, go to your carrier's local branch for a replacement SIM card.
3. Exit the app and then relaunch it, or uninstall and then reinstall the app.
4. Disable and then re-enable mobile data. Turn on airplane mode and then turn the airplane
mode off again.
5. Go to Settings > Wireless and Networks > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point
Names and then select Reset to default .
6. Restart your phone.
11.6 Why is the signal strength weak when I place my
phone on a metal surface or use a metal case?
The phone's antenna is located on the underside of the phone. Placing the phone on a metal
surface will impair the antenna's performance.
