Mini-PCI Card Support

This section describes how to:

To install Ethernet support

If you have installed retail Windows and your HP Notebook contains a built-in 3Com
10/100 Mini PCI Ethernet Adapter, you need to install the LAN drivers. The LAN drivers
are contained in the \HP\DRIVERS\W98\LAN subdirectory.

1. Make sure that the 3Com network adapter is connected to the network.

2. Open the Device Manager: Right-click on My Computer and select Properties, and

then click the Device Manager tab.

3. Double-click “Ethernet Controller.”

4. Click the Driver tab and click Update Driver.

5. Click Next.

6. Select “Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a

specific driver” and click Next.

7. Double-click “Network Adapters.”

8. Click Have Disk and browse to \HP\Drivers\W98\LAN

9. Click OK.

10. Select 3COM 10\100 Mini PCI Ethernet Adapter and click Next.

11. Click Yes.

12. Click Next.

13. Click Yes.

14. Click Finish.

15. Close the Device Properties and the Device Manager.
