Removing the tape drive blank
1.
Unlock and open the tower bezel ("

servers only).
CAUTION:
Always populate each media bay with either a device or a blank. Proper airflow can only be
maintained when the bays are populated. Unpopulated drive bays can lead to improper cooling and
thermal damage.
2.
Pull the tape drive blank out of the chassis.
3.
Store the blank for later use.
Installing a tape drive
NOTE:
If you are installing a USB tape drive, you do not have to remove the system board. You can omit
steps 7, 8, and 10.
