Solutions

Printer cartridge is out
of black ink.

Replace the printer cartridge.

▲

Caution:

Do not attempt to install a

printer cartridge by moving the printer
carriage manually.

1. From the Windows taskbar, click the

Start

button, point to

Programs,

and then click the

printer model you have installed on your
computer.

2. Select

Printer Control

3. Select the

Cartridges

tab.

4. In the Cartridge pull-down menu, choose the

cartridge you want to install.

5. In the Action pull-down menu, select the

action you want.

6. Click

Install/Reinstall Cartridge

. The

cartridge carriage moves to the loading
position in the middle of the printer.

7. Lift the printer access door.
8. Remove the old cartridge, if necessary, and

install the new cartridge.

9. Close the printer access door.

10. Click

Continue

The print cartridge may
be out of ink.

Replace the cartridge by following the directions
in the previous problem, “Printer cartridge is out
of black ink.”

Print cartridge nozzle
may be blocked.

Be sure the tape covering the nozzle of the print
cartridge has been removed.

Symptom

Printer prints in colors other
than black.

Printer seems to be printing,
but no characters appear on
the paper.
