Pressure hopper Both pressure hopper and attachments must be absolutely leaktight during use.
Leaks lead to metering errors.
WARNING
Danger of crushing when opening or closing the hopper lids.
Ø
Do not let your hand or fingers get caught between lid and hopper.
NOTE
Check for leak tightness each time a lid is closed with the fan running by simply
listening or feeling with your hand around the lid.
Ø Close the hopper lid securely with the levers before each use in the field.
NOTE
During transportation over long distances or on very bumpy roads, the fertiliser in-
side hopper may solidify. Before starting work, the fertiliser must be free flowing.
Fertiliser should only be filled in when the machine is in the field or it may have to
be loosened again, e.g. by slightly banging against the hopper wall.
Injector/fall sluice In the injector or fall sluice the metering unit injects the fertiliser into the air flow.
The fall sluice is fitted with a foldable lid at the bottom. To calibrate, the injector or
fall sluice is opened here and the calibration bag is hooked in.
