Because of its shape, the Barrel has an important function with grain placement.
The Barrel must not be damaged or soiled. Dust deposits in the sensor window can
adversely affect the signals on the sensor. This can be the reason for incorrect data
(faults) in the computer.
Damage at the pipe outlet of deposits / blockages caused by damp or sticky soils at
the outlet are reasons for irregular seed placement.
The Barrel becomes slowly blocked in the process. It starts with a deposit behind the
peak, until it is completely blocked.

NOTE
The sensor is unable to detect faults in the lower section of the barrel!
The sensor can only trigger an alarm only when the pipe is blocked and filled up to
the height of the sensor.
Ø Under poor application conditions the barrel must therefore be checked and
cleaned several times a day.
Ø
Even under "normal" work conditions and for large areas several inspections
per day are recommended.
Reminder every 20 hours
In order to avoid faults caused by soiled sensors in the barrel and an impairment of
the seed placement, the note "Clean barrel daily and check function of trap rollers"
will be displayed after 20 operating hours resp. when switching on the next time.
10.3 Operating the metering system
10.3.1 General notes
The parts inside the metering unit are precision parts!
1. Negative impact such as contamination, leaks, moisture or wear compromise
the quality of the seed.
2. Always handle the parts carefully and without force.
3. Replace parts if worn or damaged.
4. Do not oil, grease or spray the parts with corrosion protection agents. The
parts would stick together or become porous.
5. Tighten screws only by hand when replacing components. Do not use power
screwdrivers.
