STO RAGE GUIDE

STORAGE

Extended storage, such as for winter,

requires that you take certain steps to
red uce the effects of deterioration from

on-use of the m ot ro cy cle . In additio n ,

-ne cessary repairs should b e m a d e BE

FORE storing the motorcycle ; otherwise ,

these repairs may be forgotten by the
time the motorcycle is removed fro m
storage .

Change the engine oil and filter.

Make sure the cooling syst e m is filled
with a 5 0/ 5 0% antifre e ze solution .

3 . Drain the fue l tank and carburetors.

Spray the inside of the tank wit h an
aerosol rust-inhibiting oil.

Reinstall the fuel cap o n t he tank.

"' Gasoline is flammable and is explosive

under  certain  conditions.  Do  not
smoke  or  allo w  flames  or  sparks  near
the equipment  while draining fuel.

4 .

Remove the saprk plugs and pour a

tablespoon  ( 1 5 - 2 0   cc) of  clean  engine
oil  into  each  cylinder.  Crank  the
engine  several  times  to  distribute

the oil, then reinstall the spark plugs.

NOTE :

When turning the engine over, the

and each spark plug placed in its cable
cap and grounded to prevent damage

to the ignition syst e m .
