NOTE:

Do not open the throttle when starting
the engine with t he choke open. This
will lean the mixture, resulting in hard
starting.
CAUTION :
*
Th e red oil pressure warning ligh t
sh ould go off a fe w seconds after th e
engine starts. If the ligh t stays on, stop
the engine im media tely and ch eck
engine oil level. Do n o t opera te the
engine with insufficien t oil pressure.
3 . About a half minute after the engine
starts, pull the choke lever back all the
way to Fully Closed ( B ) .

If idling i s unst able , open t h e t hrottle
slightly .

3 5 ° C (9 5 ° F) or abo ve

Do not use the choke .
2 . Open the throttle slightly .
3 . Start the engine .
Low Air Temperature
l0° C ( 50° F) or below

2 . Warm up the engine by opening and
closing the throttle slightly .
3 . Continue warming up until the engine
runs smoothly and responds to the
t hrott le when the choke lever is at
Fully Closed ( B ) .
CAUTIO N :

Idling a t h igh rpm for more than a b o u t

minutes at normal air tempera ture
may cause exhaust pipe disco loration.

Extended u se of the ch oke may impair
piston and cylinder wall lu brica tion.
