Make sure that the electrical connections are in a
flood-safe area and are protected from moisture. The
power cord and plug must be checked for damage
before use.
The end of the connecting cable must not be sub-
merged in water, as this may allow water to infiltrate
into the motor connection room.
The electrical connection must be carried out in accor-
dance with the local regulations of the utility company or
VDE. The supply voltage and frequency are indicated on
the type plates on the pump and the switching device.
The voltage tolerance must be 6% to - 10% of the
mains voltage. It must be ensured that the data listed on
the type plates is in agreement with the existing power
supply. The lifting units require no additional motor pro-
tection.
The pump motors have a built-in thermal switches in the
motor windings, which shut off the pump via the connect-
ed switchgear in case the motor overheats or is overload-
ed. No additional motor protection is required.
5.5.1 Electronic control unit (Saniquick UFT)
The switchgear supplied with the system contains its own
operating instructions. Please read these to be able to op-
erate the control unit.
5.6. Motor protection
The minimum requirement is a thermal relay / motor pro-
tection switch with temperature compensation, differen-
tial triggering and an anti-reactivation device in accordance
with VDE 0660 or the appropriate national regulations.
If the machines are connected to electrical systems in
which faults frequently occur, we recommend installing
additional protective devices (overvoltage, undervoltage
or phase failure relays, lightning protection). Local and na-
tional regulations must be adhered to when connecting
the machine.
1 Phase motors
The pumps with the designation ...W... are equipped with
230 V/1Ph motors. They are equipped as standard with a
switchgear with motor protection switch and operating
capacitor. If other switching devices are used, the rated
current of the motor must be taken into account when
dimensioning the motor protection switch.
3 Phase motors
Pumps with 3Ph motors are equipped with a standard
switchgear with motor protection switch. When using
other the rated current of the motor must be taken into
account when dimensioning the motor the rated current
of the motor (see nameplate).
5.7. Switch-on types
Switch-on types with plug/switchgears
Insert the plug into the socket provided for and use the on/
off switch on the switchgear.
5.7.1. After switching on
The rated current is surpassed quickly during the start-up
process. After termination of this process the work current
should not exceed the rated current. If the motor does not
start immediately after switch-on, it must be switched off
immediately. Before further switch-on the switch pauses
according to the technical data must be complied with.
In the event of a further interference the machine must
be switched off immediately. A further switch-on process
may only be started after recovery of the fault.
The following points should be checked:
• Operating voltage (permitted dev/- 5% of the
rated voltage)
• Power input (permitted deviation between the phases
maximum 5%)
• Switching frequency and pauses (see technical data)
• Minimum submersion in water, level control, protec-
tion against dry run
• Smooth run
• Check for leakages, if appropriate take the necessary
steps according the chapter ‘maintenance’
