Vacuum System
The vacuum system is typically powered by the
same engine that powers the UHP pump. A blower
creates vacuum in the filter canister, waste tank,
vacuum hoses and Hog Head whenever the sys-
tem is operating. Vacuum can be adjusted by
increasing or decreasing the engine RPM and there
is no vacuum control at the Ground Hog. Thus,
maximum vacuum, approximately 7 hg (.5 Bar)
is typically achieved at maximum engine operat-
ing RPM.
The wear brush clamped to the blast head shroud
provides a partial seal between the Hog Head and
pavement or blasting surface. The wear brush
regulates air flow into the Hog Head and reduces
the amount of debris and water exiting the shroud
during waterblasting operations.
