Self Rotating Spray Bar
The spray bar is a quick change design that is at-
tached to the threaded thru-shaft. Spray bars are
constructed of high quality stainless steel. The
nozzle mounting surface is angled which causes
the thrust from the blasting pressure to rotate the
spray bar and hydraulic pump. Two large nozzles
on each end of the spray bar provide additional
thrust to improve spray bar rotation speed.
A special brass button seal provides the high pres-
sure seal between the spray bar and thru-shaft.
The spray bar will need to be removed to purge
the system of debris that could clog the nozzles
whenever the high pressure water hose is newly
connected to the Ground Hog. Additionally, the
spray bar will need to be removed if the button
seal begins to leak or the spray bar becomes
damaged.
Always hold the spray bar with the spray nozzles
facing up and threaded end down when it is re-
moved from the shaft. Set the spray bar with
the nozzles facing up on a clean cloth in a clean,
safe location until purging is complete and head
is ready for installation.
Refer to the Maintenance section of this manual
for instructions to install or replace spray bars
and nozzles.
Spray bars are available in a variety of widths.
Aggressive and non-aggressive patterns are avail-
able for all heads. If you are new to waterblasting
equipment, Hog Technologies offers a variety of
spray bar and nozzle configurations to meet the
requirements of most paint and rubber removal
projects. Contact Hog Technologies Customer
Service for assistance in selecting the right spray
bars for your project.
NOTICE:
AFTER INSTALLATION OF NEW NOZZLES ANd/OR A SPRAY
BAR, THE WEEP HOLES ON ALL HIGH PRESSuRE FITTINGS
SHOuLd BE CHECKEd FOR LEAKS uNdER PRESSuRE.
THIS SHOuLd BE dONE PRIOR TO REPLACING THE SPRAY
BAR PROTECTOR. THERE SHOuLd NOT BE ANY WATER
LEAKING FROM THE WEEP HOLES. ANY LEAKAGE IS AN
INdICATION OF AN INSTALLATION ERROR, NOZZLE NOT

With the spray bar installed, operate the pump at low
pressure to check for nozzle accuracy and leaks from
the spray bar threads or nozzles. Water dripping
from any of the weep holes in the side of the spray
bar indicates that a nozzle is not seated properly.
