8.0 SYSTEM CHECKOUT
8.1 BEF OR E TU RN ING T HE P OW ER "O N":
1.
To prev ent s park ing,
do not connect
the batteries. Connect the batteries after powering the system fro m the m ain
AC supp ly.
2.
Check that all Modules are installed in the proper location with the proper connections.
3.
Check all field (external) wiring for opens, shorts, and ground.
4.
Che ck tha t all interco nn ec tion cables are secu re, an d th at a ll conn ec tors are plugg ed -in pro pe rly.
6.
Check all Jumpers and Switches for proper setting.
7.
Ch eck the A C p owe r wiring for pr ope r con nec tion.
8.
Check that the chassis is connected to
EARTH GROUND
(cold water pipe).
9.
Make sure to clos e the front cove r plate before powe ring th e syste m fro m m ain AC supp ly.
8.2 POWER -UP PROCEDUR E:
1.
After com pleting the Sys tem Ch ec ko ut p roce du res, p ow er-up th e pan el. The "AC-ON" green LED should illuminate,
the “Com m on Tro uble” LED should illumin ate, and th e bu zzer sh ould sou nd. P ress the white “Syste m Re set”
button.
2.
Since the batteries are not connected, the "Battery Trouble" LED should illuminate as well as the trouble buzzer
sho uld so und interm ittently and the c om m on tro uble LED sho uld flas h.
3.
Conn ect the batteries while observing correct polarity; the red wire is positive (+) and black wire is negative (-).
4.
All indicators should extinguish except for normal power "AC-ON" green LED.
5.
Configure the Fire Alarm Control Panel as described in the Configuration section.
8.3 TROUBLESHOOTING:
Circ uit Tro ub le
Norm ally when a Circuit trouble occurs, its designated trouble indicator will be
illuminated
, as
we ll as the comm on trouble indicator and trouble buzzer. To correct the fault, check for open
wiring on that particular Circuit loop or if the Circuit Disconnect Switch is in the
on
or
closed
position.
Please note: Disconnecting a Circuit will cause a system trouble (off-norma l position).
Rem ote Fail
A
Rem ote Fa il
will be indicated on the main panel display for any failure reported by, or failure
to comm unicate with a Remote Annunciator or other Rem ote Device.
Grou nd Fau lt
This panel has a comm on ground fault detector. To correct the fault, check for any external
wiring touching the chassis or other Earth Ground connection.
Bat tery Tro ub le
Che ck for the pre se nc e of ba tter ies and th eir cond ition s. L ow voltag e (b elow 2 0.4 V) will cause
a battery trouble. If battery trouble condition persists, replace batteries as soon as possible.
Config. Mode
If the
Test/Config Mode
LE D is illuminated steady, the system is in either Configuration Mode
or W alk-Test Mode. If it is flashing then the Configuration has been corrupted, and has been
reset to defaults; it is then necessary to review / re-enter your Configuration.
Common Tro ub le
If only a comm on troub le is indicated on the m ain panel and non e of those abo ve confirming
trouble indicators are
on
, then che ck the fo llowing for po ssib le fau lt:
i)
Check for any missing interconnection wiring.
ii)
Check for any Module missing that was part of the Configuration.
iii)
Check jumpers positions; particularly ensure that the
Con tinuity Jumper
is insta lled only
on the LAST Circuit Adder Module in the system.
iv) Check for improperly secured cabling.
