Flexible front-end director installation
The maximum number of FEDs that can be installed in the controller depends
on the number of VSD pairs and back-end directors (BEDs) that are installed.
As shown in the following figure, the controller is built with 12 I/O slots, eight
of which are dual-purpose. This provides a wide range of configuration
flexibility.
