the Lock in

Exicor software started when
another instance was already
running

If the Exicor software is already running
on the PC, opening a second instance of
the Exicor software generates these
messages. The second Exicor ‘view-
only’ software application can be used to
view previously acquired data files but it
cannot control the Exicor hardware and
acquire new data. Turn off screen saver

Close the new instance of Exicor
software if opened accidentally

Software hangs
during data scan

Some hardware was turned
off or disconnected

Check all hardware cable connections

Occasionally, the PC screen saver
causes software freezes. Turn off
screen saver

Restart software

If the Exicor software displays an error message when trying to save data to a file,
check factors relevant to the error message. For example, check that the file is not
in use by another program and ensure that there is enough free space on the disk to
which the file is being written.
