Safety

Exicor GEN5 User Manual

The Exicor GEN5 system has an open frame construction. As a result, there are
significant mechanical hazards that the operator should avoid. When power is ON,
keep your arms and hands away from the source and detector modules, the
actuators, their guide tracks, and nearby frame pieces. Major hazard locations have
been marked with warning labels to indicate the most hazardous areas of the
system. Review the compliance labeling drawings above before operating the
system.
Actuator motion occurs during sample scanning and during software startup. Turn
OFF power to the Exicor GEN5 when making changes to the sample holder or when
servicing the system.

Electrical Safety

Rear panel outlets, other than AC outlets, carry low voltage signals and controls.
Typical voltages are 0 to 4 volts with none exceeding 24 volts.
The Exicor GEN5 contains no user-serviceable components. Refer any maintenance
or adjustment needs to Hinds Instruments, Inc.
Do not allow any liquids to get inside the equipment.
Maintenance of the other elements of the system should be referred to Hinds
Instruments, Inc. or other trained personnel.
