CHAPTER 3 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
3-1 INTRODUCTION
This chapter contains the preventive maintenance procedures about HS1102S hot melt
applicator. These procedures are organized according to machine’s utility rate----They are daily,
weekly, semiannual, and periodical maintenance. Periodical maintenance does not affected by
any factors, like operation condition, environment, etc. Doing the preventive maintenance is not
only keeping high efficiency. But also extending its lifetime.
3-2 SAFE PRECAUTIONS
1)
Always wear the protective glasses, clothing and heat-resistant gloves to avoid being burned
by hot surface of components or molten glue.
2)
Make sure the external power supply is disconnected before replace any electrical
components or covers for safety.
3)
Make sure inner air pressure of heating hose and dispensing nozzle is exhausted before
plugging or unplugging the connectors of heating hose and dispensing nozzle for safety.
4)
Make sure the motor is stopped before disassembling the cover of motor to avoid finger
being clipped by chain and gear.
5)
Do not heat the component with flame or torch. If components are necessary to be heated,
please use electrical oven or electrical heat gun is suggested.
6)
Hydrocarbon is a kind of dangerous solvent. It may cause explosion by using this kind of
solvent to clean components.
3-3 DAILY MAINTENANCE
1) Always keep the equipment and surrounding clean
2) Always keep surface of dispensing nozzle clean to prevent some adhesive on surface to
be carbonized. It may cause dispensing nozzle to be overheated.
3) Make sure there is no impurities in hot melt adhesive before loading, these impurities
may cause unstable glue flow or block filter assembly. Therefore, please close the tank
lid immediately after loading.
4) Do not keep air gap between hot melt adhesive and bottom of tank to avoid making air
bubbles.
3-4 MONTHLY MAINTENANCE
3-4-1 MAINTENANCE OF FILTER ASSEMBLY
Please refer to the following procedure to clean filter assembly.
1)
Keep working temperature before disassembling the filter assembly.
2) Please release rest sir pressure of dispensing nozzle when setting temperature is arriving.
3) Put a container under joint between manifold and heating hose, and disassemble the heating
hose by spanner.
