Tips for Using e-Dif - •If absolute positioning based on a
reference point is critical to your operation, then set a
reference point and return to it every 40 minutes to re-
calibrate e-Dif and maintain sub-meter accuracy. This is most
commonly used for air applications.
•
However, if only your pass-to-pass accuracy is important, you
don’t need to re-calibrate every 40 minutes. Use e-Dif
according to the single-session rules. This is most commonly
used for ground applications.
•
You must maintain lock on a minimum of 4 satellites.
Note: It is possible (and common) to use one calibration
point for longer than 40 minutes. The pass-to-pass accuracy
will be very good, but the absolute accuracy will typically
have drifted more than 1 meter after 40 minutes.
