Checking the Port Setup
DGPS receivers require different signals in order to function. These
signals are broadcast after the position and time have been
successfully calculated. To ensure that your receiver is properly
formatted, there are international standards for the data exchange
(NMEA or RTCM) formats and protocols.
The port setup menu allows you to:
• check the baud rate
• view NMEA and RTCM message types
To view the port setup:
1. Select DGPS > Port Setup from the Main menu.
2. Turn the rotary dial to view the contents of the menu. The
following provides an overview of each field.
Baud Rate - You can set baud rates of ports A and B
independently. These two ports are commonly called:
• Port A - GPS port - auxiliary port
• Port B - Diag port - primary port
The baud rate of each port is configured but the defaults are:
• Port A - 4800 baud
• Port B - 19200 baud
Note: Depending on the type of receiver you have, port setup
may not be available.
Note: Please refer to your receiver’s user guide for more
information on port setup.
