(see Figure 20-6). When evaluating the exposed rolls of ﬁ lm, remember that the last picture
you took is frame 1 on the ﬁ lm and so on.

A partially exposed cassette of ﬁ lm can be removed by pressing the mid-roll rewind but-

ton below the LCD panel with tip of a ballpoint pen or similar object (see Figure 20-7).

Changing the image format. Change the image format by setting the selector knob to

either of the two positions. The panoramic position is indicated by the letter P on the top of
the dial and on the LCD display. A ﬂ ashing P indicates that you have changed to the panoramic
format when only one frame of the standard size remains on the ﬁ lm.

OPERATING THE CAMERA

On the original XPan model you put the camera into the operating position with the operat-
ing dial set to S, to C or to the self-timer setting where the exposure is made 10 seconds after
the release is pressed. On the XPan II you can program the self-timer delay time for either
2 or 10 seconds. The change is made with the up/down buttons on the camera LCD panel,
where you can also see the self-timer setting. At the 10-second delay, the self-timer light at the
front of the camera lights up for 7 seconds and then ﬂ ashes for 3 additional seconds. Set to a
