THE HASSELBLAD MANUAL

ﬁ lter, which, in the case of Hasselblad, can be done at the Hasselblad service centers. This con-
version done at the Hasselblad service center also involves recalibrating the sensor position
for the image distance without the ﬁ lter and cover glass. The infrared ﬁ lter must be re-attached
over the sensor for regular photography. Some Hasselblad photographers have used a converted
camera without the infrared ﬁ lter for general photography by placing an infrared blocking ﬁ lter
such as BG 39 over the lens. This ﬁ lter eliminates the infrared rays before they enter the lens.
