Please read the focus points in this user manual before using the Vista roof tent.
Installing/mounting of the Vista roof tent:
• After purchase, check that you have all the parts.
• Follow the instructions provided in this manual. Consult your dealer if further assistance is needed.
• The product is heavy, and lifting and moving it can cause significant physical strain. Keep this in mind.
• Using the roof tent when damaged may lead to safety accidents. Contact your dealer if you think your
product is damaged.
• The roof rack of some vehicles may not be suitable for installing the roof tent.
• Thoroughly review the mounting method before installing the roof tent.
• If you still have questions about the installation, contact your dealer.
Driving with the Vista roof tent:
• Before driving the vehicle, make sure the roof box is installed in the correct, prescribed manner. Accidents
and/or damage may occur if the roof tent clamps are not properly secured.
• Make sure the box is fully closed and the draw latches secured before driving. Locking the box with the
key is not necessary.
• Hapro recommends a maximum speed of 130 km/h.
Adjust your speed to external conditions, such as type of car, type of road, road conditions, weather (wind,
rain) and speed limits.
• Avoid driving with the roof tent in severe weather conditions.
• Reduce speed when driving on rough roads or over speed bumps.
• Make sure your roof rack or roof bars are suitable to carry and use the Vista roof tent. Make sure that your
roof rack/roof bars are not damaged.
• The roof tent significantly increases your vehicle height. Be mindful of places with limited clearance
height.
• Never drive with an opened box and/or unfolded tent.
Unfolding/folding the Vista roof tent:
• Keep in mind that excessive force on the roof tent during opening or closing may cause damage.
• When using the roof tent, the ladder acts as a support. Therefore, you must check that every rung of the
ladder is secure and the ladder is stable. If the rung fasteners are defective or the ladder is not stable, use
of the ladder may damage the product or result in personal injury.
• The surface on which the tent is installed must be flat, firm and not slippery.
Using the Vista roof tent:
• Do not leave children in the tent unsupervised.
• Take care when climbing the ladder. Risk of falling!
• The rungs of the ladder may be slippery due to rain, mud, dust and/or ice.
• .Never use flammable substances in the tent. Do not spray hairspray in the tent.
• Do not erect the tent near campfires or fire pits. Sparks can burn holes in the tent fabric, and the roof tent
can catch fire or be damaged.
• The tent fabric is made of a blend of cotton yarns. The appearance of the fabric may change temporarily
when exposed to moisture (rain and wind). This is a natural property of the cotton.
• Cotton is a natural material. Light discolouration may occur over time.
• Avoid using the roof tent in strong winds (8 Bft, 17 m/s, 62 km/h), heavy rain or snow.
Maintenance of the Vista roof tent:
• Do not store a wet tent folded away for more than 24 hours. Longer storage under wet conditions can
lead to mould, odour and discolouration and will adversely affect the lifetime of the roof tent.
• Remove contaminants and foreign substances from the tent fabric and box lid as soon as possible. These
can cause damage. See chapter “Maintenance and storage”.
• Prolonged exposure to dust, rain, snow, dew, etc. may lead to weathering of the box.
• During use, fixings may become loose. Check regularly that the bolts of the hinges and other parts are still
tight. Tighten them if necessary.
