Maintenance and storage
Maintenance
• Brush off dirt with a soft brush.
• The tent is best rinsed with tap water.
• Remove spilt liquids on the cloth by dabbing up the stain.
• After camping by the sea for some time, it is important to hose down the tent completely with
fresh water. This is because the sea salt absorbs moisture, which can encourage mould growth.
• Do not use soap or cleaning agents when cleaning, as these will cause leaks. If soap does get on
your tent, rinse it off with plenty of water. This usually restores the waterproofing.
• Do not leave plastic carrier bags etc. in your tent when folding. Plastic contains plasticisers that can
affect the waterproofing of tent fabric.
• You can remove stains as follows:
• Scoop away drops of tree sap with a teaspoon, allow residue to dry and then pulverise gently
between fingers.
• Wash away soap stains with plenty of clean water.
• Allow grease and candle wax stains to dry and chip them away with your fingers. If necessary,
you can further remove the stain at home by placing grease-absorbent paper over it and gently
applying heat with a warm (not hot) clothes iron. Complete removal will often prove impossible.
• Do not use solvents, as this will remove the waterproofing.
• If the tent is used for many days at the same location, periodically inspect it for dirt build-up and
moisture infiltration. This is especially important in shady places.
Storage
• Aluminium telescopic poles should be thoroughly cleaned (sand-free) before folding in. After the
holiday, treat them with a tent pole and zip care product if necessary.
• For the long life of the tent, it is important to clean it well and store it dry. If you have to pack the
tent while wet at your holiday destination, open the cover immediately after arrival and let it dry
thoroughly. It is also advisable to remove twigs, leaves and the like before stowing the tent.
• A tent that feels dry is not always 100% dry.
• Store your tent clean and dry after your holiday.
Cover liner (the organiser) with storage pockets.
• The organiser is held in place with Velcro for easy
removal and attachment.
• The organiser is washable (hand wash, maximum 30 ˚C).
Mattresses
• The mattress covers can be washed.
Follow the directions on the care label
• Store the mattresses clean and dry.
