Appendix D: Testing E-mail Connectivity
Illuminator units fitted with e-mail options provide a quick and simple way of confirming proper
e-mail operation.
You can send test e-mails at any time by using the built in keypad and display. E-mails are
sent to the “Test e-mail address” as configured in the E-mail Settings browser screen.
Sending Test e-mails
Once you set up a new Illuminator and enter all required Network / E-mail parameters ensure
that it is connected to the appropriate network as selected by the E-mail sending method.
Repeatedly and briefly press the keypad key until the display shows:
Send test email?
Press and hold the key for longer than 3 seconds.
The unit will display:
Sending email…
The keypad will not respond to key presses while the above message is displayed. After a
period of time (usually less than 30 seconds) the outcome will be displayed as
Email sent OK !
OR
Email failed !
A successful outcome verifies full e-mail connectivity. Otherwise, you may wish to Monitor
Test e-mails to find the reason for the failure.
