6.2.2 Configuration Prerequisites
Before configuring PIM-DM, complete the following task:

Configure any unicast routing protocol so that all devices in the domain are
interoperable at the network layer.
Before configuring PIM-DM, prepare the following data:
z
The interval between state refresh messages
z
Minimum time to wait before receiving a new refresh message
z
TTL value of state refresh messages
z
Graft retry period
6.2.3 Enabling PIM-DM
With PIM-DM enabled, a router sends hello messages periodically to discover PIM
neighbors and processes messages from PIM neighbors. When deploying a PIM-DM
domain, you are recommended to enable PIM-DM on all interfaces of non-border
routers (border routers are PIM-enabled routers located on the boundary of BSR
admin-scope regions).
