Shut-down and recommissioning
Even in case of longer periods of standstill, it is not necessary to put your product out of
operation. Should you nevertheless wish to do so, please take the information given in the
present chapter into consideration.
10.1
Shut-down
WARNING:
Danger of microbiological growth due to stagnating water.
● Risk of infectious diseases.
► At regular intervals (96 h), the system carries out a flushing process with
subsequent disinfection. Even in case of longer periods of standstill, do not
disconnect your product from the water and power supply.
DIN 19636-100 stipulates that water softeners must be regenerated automatically after 4
days, even if the softening capacity has not yet been exhausted by that time. This serves to
avoid stagnation of water for hygienic reasons according to DIN EN 1717. Therefore, your
product must stay connected to the power and water supply at all times.
Should you wish to temporarily shut down your water supply due to a longer period of
absence, proceed as follows:
1.
Close the soft water shut-off valve.
2.
Leave the raw water shut-off valve open.
3.
Keep the system connected to power.
» The system remains in an operating state which is considered to be safe with
regard to hygiene and which is admissible according to DIN EN 19636-100.
10.2
Recommissioning
In order to put your product back into operation again upon your return, proceed as follows:
1.
Open the soft water shut-off valve.
2.
Perform a manual regeneration (refer to chapter 7.2).
3.
After its completion, perform another manual regeneration.
» Following the regenerations, the system is ready for operation.
