This machine is designed to remove the top sur-
face of a workpiece then sand it smooth so it is
ready for finish spraying or other uses.
In a typical operation, the operator sets the depth
of cut, turns the sanding drum and feed motors
ON, sets the speed of the feed belt, then feeds
the workpiece into the machine.
The feed belt moves the workpiece under the
cutterhead and sanding drum, then out the other
side. The workpiece can be fed through additional
times until the desired thickness and finish are
achieved.
The oscillation system shifts the sanding belt
from side-to-side on the sanding drum to produce
an even sanding finish across the width of the
workpiece. The sanding motor brake unit brings
the cutterhead and sanding belt to a quick stop
when the power is turned
OFF.
