5. Turn the RigiScan Plus Monitor on.
6. If it is not already open, open the RigiScan Control window. (See RigiScan Control Window in
Chapter 3.)
7. Click the
Real Time Monitoring
button. If you initialized the patient data for provocative testing,
the Provocative Real-time Mode Graphs screen will appear. Otherwise, the Nocturnal Real-time
Mode Graphs will appear.
8. Hold the loops in their proper positions until the RigiScan Plus Monitor tightens them. The Base
Loop will tighten first, followed by the Tip Loop. The loops will not tighten until you have clicked
Real Time Monitoring

9. To stop the Real-time Monitoring session, click button to exit the Real-Time Mode screen.
10. Wait for the RigiScan Plus Monitor to beep. Then turn off the RigiScan Plus Monitor’s power.
11. Remove the loops from the patient’s penis.
12. Download the patient’s data to the computer. (See To Download Patient Data in Chapter 3.)
Ambulatory Testing
Ambulatory monitoring allows the RigiScan Plus Monitor to collect data without being connected to
the computer. At home, the patient is responsible for placing the loops on his penis correctly, and for
replacing (or recharging) the two 9-volt batteries before each nocturnal session. Regardless of whether
you are using alkaline or rechargeable batteries, they will only have enough battery life for a single
session. Replace or have fully recharged batteries before each session. To collect patient data in the
ambulatory mode, follow these steps in the exact order given.
