NOTICE
When using IV contrast, make sure the injector or syringes with contrast are
setup before scanning the localizer (scout) scan.
IV Contrast
must be selected
from the
Contrast
settings collection.
3.3.6.1 Selecting a contrast preset
1. From the
Scan Settings
window, click the
Contrast
settings collection to open it.
2. Click
IV Contrast
and select a contrast mode:
Manual
or
Enhanced Xtream Injector
.
NOTE: You must select a contrast mode to select a contrast preset.
3. Click
Contrast Agent
or
Oral Contrast
to open that preset window.
NOTE: Once the
Contrast Agent
or
Oral Contrast
has been selected, they cannot be
changed after a scan has been acquired.
4. Select a contrast preset from the list.
NOTE: If you need to add a contrast preset to the list, see Section 3.6.2 .
5. Click [Apply].
3.3.6.2 Adding a contrast preset
1. From the
Contrast
settings collection, click
IV Contrast Agent
or
Oral Contrast
to open that
preset window.
2. Enter the
Agent
name.
3. Enter the
Concentration
.
4. Click [Add].
NOTE: Click “X” to permanently remove a contrast preset from the list.
NOTE: When contrast is selected, a
+C
annotation is displayed on the image next to the
image number, indicating that IV contrast was used for that exam.
5. Enter the
Volume
.
NOTE: If
Manual
mode is selected, you can enter a new volume for each series, if
desired.
3.3.7 Start a scan
Use this procedure to start a scan.
1. Review the following parameters for each acquisition before confirming the scan:
a. Start/End locations
b. Direction of scan
c. Projected Noise Index and mA table for SmartmA and SmartmA/ODM
2. Click [Confirm Settings].
3. Press <Move to Scan>.
