Chapter 3

DVR installation

Mounting

You can mount the DVR housing in various orientations except with the DVR facing the
floor. You must leave enough space to open the door and to remove the hard drive caddy. To
mount the DVR housing, see

Figure 14

and do the following:

1. Remove the four nuts and locking washers from the DVR side mounting brackets.

2. Remove the DVR main housing from the mounting plate. Do not remove the

vibration isolators or the nuts and bolts holding them in place.

3. Fasten the mounting plate to the vehicle using four nuts and bolts. These are not

provided; we recommend 1/4-20 bolts. Ensure you have enough space available for
system cabling at the rear of the housing.

4. Reattach the DVR main housing to the mounting plate and secure the side mounting

brackets using the locking washers and nuts previously removed.

5. Fasten the finished assembly securely in place.
