3.5.3 Starting isoelectric focusing from the Ettan IPGphor 3 control
panel
Selecting the protocol number
Advance to the protocol identification screen by:
1 placing the cursor in the protocol number field using the right and left arrow
keys, and
2 selecting the protocol number using the up and down arrow keys.
3 Use the right and left arrow keys to position the cursor to set the number of
strips to run, and the up and down arrow keys to select the number (1–12)
4 Press the START key.
A screen is displayed to confirm the number of strips to run. Adjust the number of
strips if necessary.
1 Press START to continue.
If the safety lid is not properly closed the following message will indicate the
required action:

CAUTION! During IEF:
- do not lean on the safety lid,
- do not apply excess pressure or uneven weight to the lid, and
- do not place any items on the lid.
