2-4 - System Power and Load Distribution

Before attempting this power application and functional check, ensure that the breakers, fuses, and plug
configuration is as indicated at the beginning of this Section 2.

WARNING DANGEROUS VOLTAGES EXIST WITHIN THE UNIT, USE EXTREME CARE TO AVOID

INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT.

Carry out this procedure only in the sequence given. This procedure has been developed with both the personnel
and equipment safety in mind.

Caution:

A1 mains breaker is momentary contact.

1.

Switch ON the main disconnect breaker A1.

2.

At the PDU on the A2TS1 Panel, measure and note the main AC power input, 3

∅

, 380 - 480 VAC.

Terminals A2TS1 5 (

∅

A), 6 (

∅

B), 7 (

∅

C), 4 (GND),

Ensure all three phases are present using the phase sequence indicator. Check that the phase sequence is
correct. If it is not correct, switch OFF A1 main breaker and rearrange connections at the PDU. Switch ON
A1 breaker and recheck.

3.

Switch OFF the A1 main breaker.

4.

Install the PDU Fuses A3-F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6.

5.

Ensure that T1 transformer, in the PDU, tappings are set according to the line voltage measured in Step 2
and the Table 4-2-1.

6.

Switch ON A1 breaker.

7.

Ensure input line protection light A3-DS1, DS2, DS3 are ON, PDU A3 parrel.

Note: If the supply is a Delta with one leg grounded one of the lights will not illuminate.

8.

At the PDU A3 panel fuses, measure and note the main AC power input both line and phase voltages. On the
output side of fuses A3-F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6 and TS-2 GND/NEUT block, ensure they correspond to those
voltages noted in Step 2.

9.

At the PDU A3 panel fuses, measure and note the voltages between the TS-2 GND/NEUT block and the
input side of the following fuse holders:

A3-F10, F11, F12, F13, F14, F15

Ensure these voltages are 120

±

9.6 volts.

10. At the PDU A1 panel fuses, measure and note the voltage between the TS-2 GND/NEUT block and the input

side of the following fuse holders:

A1-F1, F2, F3

Ensure these voltages are 120

±

9.6 Volts.
