Crosstalk Procedure - HiLight only:

Requirements:

The calibration must a be done every time a detector is installed. A valid Q-CAL must exist when the
procedure is done. The program checks for the presence of Qcal. If it has not been performed, then do
it.

The SCCAL file containing the current crosstalk vector must reside on the disk prior to subsequent Q-
CAL’s and image cals, i.e., the SCCAL file which contains the crosstalk vector, must be stored on tape like
the CHARACT.TB and CORXTAB.TB files for characterization tables and generator cal.

If a LFC is performed, and the SCCAL file containing the crosstalk vector for the current detector is not
available on tape, the procedure must be redone to recreate the cross talk vector.

Alignments must be complete, and valid QCAL done on the present alignment must exist for the crosstalk
procedure to be done.

A Crosstalk vector must exist before phantom cals can be made. before running crosstalk verify that the
installed tube is a D3212T or D3202T. IF THE TUBE DOES NOT HAVE A CUP DO NOT RUN
CROSSTALK. Instead, load the crosstalk vector which was supplied on the tape.

Procedure:

The procedure uses a 5” poly phantom, (46-278221G1), and a program called “CT” in the CTDS directory.
Two air scans, and 4 vertically off-centered phantom scans taken in CTDS Data Collection, are used by
the program to generate the crosstalk vector.

1. Make sure nothing is in the beam.

2.

Using CTDS Data Collection Program, (DC), take 2 air scans using default file #8 selects Axial Scan,
X-Ray on, view compressed, CW, 70ma, 140kv, 1.5mm, air filter, 8 sec. Ask for 2 slices. Write down
the SLCF numbers for each scan.

NOTE:

The alignment light and table elevation display functions in (DC) can be confusing as well as
