4.4.3 MOVING THE SOWING MACHINE FRAMES
OPENING THE FRAME (OPERATING POSITION)
To assure the best working conditions, the complete opening
of the side frame must be guaranteed (completely resting on
the central frame), moving them on a perfectly
fl at surface.
With the machine completely raised (pos. 5/c on the control unit,
activate the tractor’s hydraulic distributor to fully lower the rear
carriage of the sowing machine), with parking brake on, tractor
switched off and key removed:
- Remove the safety pin (A, Fig. 14);
- Remove the safety device of the side toolbars (1, Fig. 14), and
place it along the side toolbar as shown in Figure 15 (2);
- Make sure that the sowing machine can work in a safe area
and that nobody can get near the machine.
Switch the tractor on and switch on the control unit.
- Place switch (5) to positions (a) / (b), open the system valve (A,
Fig. 16) and activate the tractor’s hydraulic distributor to fully
open the side frame.
- Having completely opened all frames, again using the tractor
distributor, fi ll the hydraulic system at a pressure of approx. 40
bar (C, Fig. 17). Having reached the required pressure, close
the valves on the relative system (Fig. 18). Carry out the same
operation on both side frames.
- Finally, position switch (5) in (c) to place the rear carriage in
position for any required manoeuvres.
Lower the seed drill when the tractor is in forward gear, to
avoid clogging or damage to the planter shoes; for the same
reason the tractor should not reverse when the seed drill is
on the ground.
